Prohibition Bar

Our full-service bar where you can enjoy the most popular hand crafted cocktails with fresh herbs and juices from Prohibition days to today! You may be invited to enjoy an impromptu after-hours tour of the distillery right next door with cocktail in hand! A little history… During prohibition, it was against the law for alcohol to be produced, transported, or sold. However, it could be sold legally for religious or medicinal purposes. The original Irish Hill Pharmacy in Louisville was free to fill these special prescriptions to ease patients’ physical woes. But was the booze always sold lawfully? Shortly after acquiring the distillery, we learned that there are still tunnels from this era that run under the bar – possibly up to the old Phoenix Hill Tavern. We’re thinking that if they had to dig a tunnel, the proper prescription may not have accompanied every trip! These special “medicinal potions” back in the day used to say, “Take two ounces of stimulant each hour until stimulated”! Cheers to your health and stimulation! [Read more about our Story]
